Uli Stielike took charge of South Korean

Uli Stielike took the reins of the South Korean national squad in October and things began in superb form for him as the German coach guided South Korea to a 2-0 victory against Paraguay in his coaching debut on October 10.

Goals from Kim Min-woo and Nam Tae-hee in the first half were enough for Stielike to claim his victory as the coach of South Korea in his first match when playing against Paraguay.

This victory seemed to have fueled UliStielike as the German coach later went on saying that his squad should be able to defeat Costa Rica which was their next opponents.

“Based on FIFA rankings, it may seem easy to see who will win this match. Yet I think there’s still a possibility that we will play well enough to win. Our players have all done so well in training that I actually had difficulty selecting the starting lineup.”UliStielike said during a press conference after South Korea’s victory over Paraguay.
Unfortunately for Stielike and his squad of players, Costa Rica was the team that emerged as the victorious side with what seemed to be a rather comfortable 3-1 triumph over South Korea.

Nonetheless, the recently appointed coach of South Korea is just getting his team warmed up for the approaching Asian Cup which initiates in January of 2015. There still are 2 more friendly matches scheduled to be played on November 14 and 18 against Jordan and Iran respectively.

All of these friendly matches are nothing more than a way for the manager to test out his players and formations to see which one would be best suited for the upcoming tournament which is only a few months away from kicking off in full force.
