SENG-YONG JOINS RANGDAJIED

The North Korean player, Kim Seng-Yong, has joined the Indian club Rangdajied United.

Rangdajied has bought Yong from Nakhon Ratchasima which is a Thai club. The Korean has signed a 1-year deal with his new club.

Yong has featured for his national side North Korea as well, not at the senior level, but, at U-23 level. Apart from that, he has quite a bit of experience at club level too. He has played for the Japanese club Kyoto Sanga FC for a couple of years. So, he can be considered as a good buy for the struggling Rangdajied United side.

Rangdajied is currently placed right at the bottom of the I-league points table. They have played 9 games in the league so far and they haven’t managed to win even one of them. They have lost 5, while, the remaining 4 have ended in the form of draws. They have got just 4 points at the moment.

Rangdajied’s main problem was that they didn’t have a quality striker. There were not enough opportunities being created upfront. But, now, with the arrival of Yong, they can expect better results.

Yong looked quite happy after making his way to India. Talking to the reporters after his arrival, he said, “It’s really exciting for me to come to India. It’s a great place and people love sports here.”

“I want to have a good time here playing in the I-league. It would be great if I manage to help my team bounce back from the position they are in right now.”

Yong’s agent Arvind Narayan also talked to the reporters yesterday about Yong coming to India. He said, “Yong is a fine forward and he is hungry for the goals all the time. I think he will turn out to be a fantastic buy for Rangdajied.”
