Korea beat Lebanon 1-0 in their last World Cup qualifying match. Korea has already qualified for the next round but was desperate to keep their 100% record in the qualifiers.
Korea was made to work hard during the game and winning the game proved to be more difficult than expected. With qualifying already won, Korea had trouble to up their game probably due to a lack of motivation and instead found it difficult to breach a side that was more than happy not to concede a goal.

Lebanon was content to sit deep and to invite Korea to attack them. As a result, there was only one shot on target in the first half. The best opportunity came for Hwang Ui-Jo who managed to shoot on goal amidst a crowded penalty area. The shot was well saved by the Lebanese goalkeeper Mahdi Khalil.
The same scenario repeated throughout the game. When Korea finally managed to get past the stubborn Lebanese defense, they will stumble upon a really good keeper in Mahdi Khalil.
Lebanon could have even scored a goal in the second half with ZeinTahan managing to escape Korea’s marking and running through on goal. But with just the keeper to beat, the Lebanese player manage to shoot wide.
Supporters of both sides seem to have accepted the goalless draw when captain Ki Seung-Yeung manage to run free on the left side of the field and cross for Lee, who scored. This allows Korea to win their 8th successive game and keep their 100% record intact. What is even more brilliant is that Korea has not conceded a single goal during the process.
Now the team will await the draw for the third round that will take place on April 12th to find out about their opponents.
