Brazil national team manager Scolari has praised the performance of Santos striker Neymar following the 2-2 draw with Italy in a friendly match. This is the second match in charge for the new manager after taking over from Mano Menezes a few months ago.
However, he is still searching for this first victory in the second spell at the helm of Brazilian football. Scolari’s Brazil managed to take a 2-0 lead in the match despite being outplayed by Italy for most of the encounter. However, Italy hit back in the second half with two goals to level the match.

Neymar has largely been anonymous in the international matches, despite being praised as one of the best young talent in the world. He has been linked with a mega million pound move to several clubs like Barcelona and Chelsea over the last few years. The 21-year-old, though, has repeatedly stated that he will remain at Santos until 2014.
However, it is widely the opinion of several pundits that the striker should leave to Europe as soon as possible in order to test him against the best defenders in the world before the World Cup.
After the match, Scolari praised Neymar despite the striker not scoring. He said that Neymar was tactically brilliant for the team.
“Neymar had one of his best games. Tactically it was perfect, the team did everything that we asked them to do. It is important that the Brazilian team do this, within their characteristics. Fernando and Hernanes are two players who are playing in a key area for the team. They were pretty good. We have two new players for the future, who can be satisfied with their work,” said Scolari. Brazil will be playing against Russia in a friendly match at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night hoping to win their first match under Scolari.
