Korea wins match against Lebanon

Korea beat Lebanon 1-0 in their last World Cup qualifying match. Korea has already qualified for the next round but was desperate to keep their 100% record in the qualifiers.

Korea was made to work hard during the game and winning the game proved to be more difficult than expected. With qualifying already won, Korea had trouble to up their game probably due to a lack of motivation and instead found it difficult to breach a side that was more than happy not to concede a goal.

Ji-Sung Park reckons Memphis Depay has the capability

Ji-Sung Park reckons Memphis Depay has the capability to go on to become as successful as the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo.

Park played alongside Depay for the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven a couple of years back and he rates him as high as any other young player in the world at the moment.

United sealed the services of Depay in May this year and the 21-year old has found himself in the thick of things straightaway. He has featured in all the 4 Premier games that the Red Devils have played so far in their current campaign.

North Korea manager Kim Chang Bok has said that he is hoping that his team plays an attractive brand of football when they step onto the pitch to take on Vietnam in a friendly match.

This match gives them great opportunity to put behind the disappointment of the Asian cup. North Korea had a very disappointing tournament after finishing bottom of the group without even taking a single point. Uli Stielike reckons there are a few places up for grabs

Uli Stielike reckons there are a few places up for grabs in his Korean squad ahead of the World Cup qualifiers and he would be closely watching his young players in action versus Uzbekistan to identify the individuals who are capable of filling those places.

Stielike has made it clear that he is not going to make the wholesale changes to the squad that took part in the Asian Cup earlier this year, but, he would be adding a couple of young players based on the basis of the performances in the Uzbekistan game.

South Korea Lost against Australia

South Korea was on search for their 3rd Asian Cup title as they faced off with Australia on January 31 but goals from Massimo Luongo and James Troisi was enough for Australia to rise and claim their first Asian Cup trophy.

The match was a very dramatic one as Australia took the lead in the first half through Luongo and it seemed like it was going to be enough for the home team to snatch the victory but a late goal from Heung-Min Son at the 91st minute forced the match to continue rolling into extra time.

South Korea called many New Players for Football Team

South Korea have called up several new names for the upcoming training camp after coach Uli Stielike said that he was looking for more hungry players. Out of the 28 players who have been called up by the German coach, 13 of them have been playing regularly in the domestic leagues.

They have been waiting for a chance to show their qualities and, according to Stielike,this makes them extremely hungry as far as the national team is concerned. South Korea have so far enjoyed an inconsistent run in the friendly matches after the World Cup.
